Savings/Money

I just would like some insight on how others save/spend money. My husband and I have been married for almost 1.5 years and we have a 7 month old baby. We are working on combining our finances. Right now I have my account and he has his. We both work full time but I am hourly and my husband is 100% commission. My husband often gets stressed because I am a spender and he is a saver. He has a lot of money in the bank but i have just a small amount always. I always pay half our bills and my husband pays the other half (mortgage, utilities, cars etc). We want one bank account but I need to work on my spending habits. Is anyone else in a similar boat?

How do you save money? Do you have any tips? Does one person handle the money and the other get an allowance? Any tips are appreciated :)
