Turning off the sun

I have a genuine question to conspiracy theorists. How can you turn off the sun? Did you guys fail 5th grade science class and not realize how impossible it is to even approach the sun, let alone turn it off and why would they kill everyone including themselves. You realize how totally impossible it is to survive without the sun. As all plants and animals will die, water will freeze and life would just cease to exist. But I'm really more interested in the theories of how the sun will be turned off..
