Eating after c-section

Were you able to eat regular food after a c-section? I know my mom said she was on a liquid diet after her c-sections but she was put under for hers so she's not sure did the same rules apply if I'll be awake. I literally won't eat any of the clear liquids/foods they offer so I'll be screwed and I've been on the same medications before that I'll have the day of my c-section and I'll definitely want to eat
