Are y’all planning on working after the baby comes?

Question

Im currently  a FT nurse.  The thought of working with a new baby overwhelms me but the one income overwhelms me more!  I would LOVE to be able to stay home with baby for at least the first year but I don’t think it will be possible.  I’m curious as to what everyone else did? Stay at home or continue to work?

I make more than my husband and we bought a huge new house this year so I don't have a choice!!  Plus I have a pretty good career going that I'm not really prepared to give up at this point. I do get over 4 months of paid maternity leave plus an abundance of PTO so I'll have plenty of time to bond with baby before going back to work and we found an amazing daycare. 
I honestly don't think I'd be cut out to be a SAHM anyway. I'm afraid I'd get lazy and fat :)

Sadly, we can't afford for me not to. Luckily, my MIL is close by and does not work, so has offered to take care of any babies we have. I feel a little better about needing to work knowing that babies will at least be with family while I am at work.

My baby will be my work. I will be babysitting my nephew also.

I’ve been at home. Paid maternity leave for a year, and it’s been amazing. At least once baby started sleeping better.

I work from home, which makes things much easier-in planning on taking off for 6 weeks (my husband will be off the first 3 weeks, as well). When I go back, my husband will take another month off....

I left my full time daycare job for a less stress part time nanny job. 
I hope to take a month off then keep working with the family (LO is allowed to come too!) just to bring in that little extra amount

I am going back to work. I’m taking about 12 weeks off after I have the baby. I’m very lucky where I work full time from home and am pretty flexible with my schedule, but I can also be very busy at times. My husband is a career fireman and works 24hrs then he is off for 72 (1 day on 3 days off).

I've veen a stay at home mom with my son and this baby I will be as well. I'm strictly breastfeeding and I'm a very hands on mom so I'm not big in trusting people with my kids.

I am VERY much someone who HAS to work to stay sane.  Work is my happy place.  I work three 12 hour shifts a week so I am home more than I am working but if it were an option I would only work 1-2 days.  Unfortunately for us that's not an option

i will go back to work... but only part time.   i think my husband wants me to stay home, but i supported my first two kids on my one income, for the most part. (wound up getting child support in their later teen years)   i dont want my husband to feel that burden alone. we can afford it, because where we live cost of living isnt horrible and he makes decent money, but i dont want it all to fall on his shoulders.   so i will go back part time.   plus, i like to work.
