I'm currently expecting my second child and have told family and close friends but haven't announced on social media yet. We are waiting for the results of our genetic testing to find out the gender which will be in this week, and then I have a doctor appointment the beginning of next week so I was hoping to announce by next weekend. However, my niece's first birthday party is that Saturday and knowing her mother I would be accused of trying to "steal the attention", even though all the family that would be there already knows. Is it selfish of me to annouce that weekend? Or should I just avoid announcing on that specific day? Would the day before or after be okay?
