Zofram and pregnancy

Concern. I recently went to the ER for Food Poisioning while pregnant (around 11 weeks). My doctor gave my Zofram to stop the vomiting. I was reading some journals today and saw that there is a link between zofram and birth defects. Can anyone shed some light? I've only had the one, but am concerned that a doctor would give me something that would hurt my baby.
