Should I try to give birth naturally this time?

With my son I tried to give birth naturally I opened up to 10 cm but he got stuck due to my very narrow pelvis. He pooped in me which gave me a fever and I ended having a c-section. I was so drained from trading for over 20 hr to deliver naturally that when it was time to have the c section I was so out of it 0 energy. Now that I’m pregnant the doctor said I have a 30% chance to deliver normally. The doctor who delivered my son said I shouldn’t even try (4 yrs ago) I’ll have an ultrasound closer to the due date to check the weight of my baby to see if I should even try. My son was only 6lbs 8oz. What do u ladies think?

I think you should listen to your doctor suggestion. Do you know your medical history first and the possibility of it happening again. I had the same situation when I was dilated but he was stuck and also how to follow movement. I think if I were to get pregnant again, as much as I would like to have it vaginally, I would have to opt for the safest option, which would be a C-section

My son got stuck coming out due to his wide shoulders.When I was about 34 weeks pregnant with my daughter they told me that I would need a C-section, but ultimately it was my choice. I put it off as long as I could but ended up having a c-section because the doctor in labor and delivery refused to admit me for vaginal delivery when I was in early labor. I'm so glad I had a C-section with my daughter because even coming out through my stomach she still got stuck due to how wide her shoulders were. The doctor who did the surgery told me that I'm most likely would have ended up with either a severely disabled child or be planning a funeral because of how wide she was. Both babies were 8.14. They weren't very large but to give you perspective on how big my daughter was on top, she needed preemie diapers because the newborn's would fall off of her. Her brother was chunkier all around but she was all shoulders and no waist. Take your Drs advice and don't risk yours or your baby's health

I went through the same thing! Had the same problem and I had planned c section after my first and I’m so glad because the consultant said I can try but there wasn’t a 100% result I could and I’d probably need a cut and so I thort c section best option now pregnant with 3rd and will have a c section

If a 6lb baby was too big to fit I wouldn’t risk it happening again. Personally I’d rather do the elective csection knowing the risks of a vaginal birth in your circumstances. 6lbs is a little baby

I just had a successful VBAC after being “failure to progress” my first labor. I was stuck at 4cm (I think they may have just got sick of waiting)
I know that even with only a 30% chance I’d still try. This is a new baby, a new pregnancy and a new birth. My VBAC has literally been life changing. I’m so glad I went for it! In the end its up to you. I had fears of it being the same, or things turning out bad again, but nothing was the same. I had spontaneous labor at 40 weeks and 5 days, didn’t need a drop of pitocin and I got what’s called a “walking epidural” once I hit transition. So I still felt all of it, with slightly less pain. It was beautiful and emotionally healing. I would recommend it ❤️
