How can i meet up with a friend

Like my parents pretty much hate them and we’re gonna meet up at a volleyball game bc shes on one of the teams. I haven’t seen her in forever and my parents hate her bc she smokes but should i ask them to just drop me off? I dont know the school well but its my home highschool and its a legit event on the hs’s calendar?
