I fucked up

Does anyone know how the law works in Canada, Ontario to he exact? Basically my boyfriend got his license suspended and I've been driving us from and to school and today I fucking decided to cross the yellow light (even tho he fully told me not too) and boom a pic gets taken. Does anyone know the procedure on how this works so he can tell them it wasn't him driving. I told him I'll pay the ticket and of course I'll go to court and all that to tell them it was me but do the recognize that or just blame the owner of the car. 😢 I feel like absolute poop, like poor guy this whole thing sucks. Please give advise
