Am I or my SO infertile?

I know that 12 months of trying to get pregnant and not succeeding is when you are considered infertile, but it hasn’t been 12 mo since we have been trying but well over a year since we have been having sex unprotected and still nothing. I’m a little embarrassed to go to the doctor since I am quite young (19 and my SO is 22). But I wanna know what you guys think, if we could possibly be infertile or not.

HUGE REMINDER: my SO was diagnosed w leukemia when he was 16 and is technically cancer free now (almost 2 years) but he has popped the question of infertility to his doc who said it shouldn’t be problem.

Idk do you think that maybe I’m just worrying myself for no reason???
