What do contractions feel like?

I'm starting to think that I don't know what contractions feel like. I'm 80% effaced and 2cm dilated so I assume that means I've been contracting but I haven't really felt much. What do contractions feel like?

Your entire stomach will feel tight and hard as a rock. They probobably won't hurt at first. If it's your 1st pregnancy it is really hard to tell.

Following. I usually can't tell if what I'm feeling is a contraction or baby's movement.

In the beginning they won't be as noticeable. By time labor hits, you'll know. Everyone is different but I had my first completely natural so by time labor hit, I could defaintly feel the contractions.

I asked this question at my last appt, and my dr said it will probably feel like the baby is balling up and pushing out at the top of my uterus. Which id been feeling, but had no ide they were contractions! Literally thought it was just the baby pushing his back up against me and holding there for a little bit lol

Early on they kind of feel like a period cramp.
