Do you have HPV? Or did you ever have and your body got rid of it?

I just got diagnosed with HPV (not the cancerous kind 🙏🏾) and was told that it is actually common to have it if you’re sexually active. So I decided to google about it and found out that 80% of the sexually active population contract HPV at some point of their lives 😱. I probably got it from my husband.

I had HPV was diagnosed when I was 17. I was so scared. I didn’t even know what it was. Had to get 2 colposcopies and that was the worst pain ever. Now I’m 21 and got my annual Pap smear in September and found that I am HPV free! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 it was an amazing feeling. 💕

I have hpv.. I had antibiotics and my body fought it off on its own in less than 4 months .. thank god.. going for my annual next month hope I’m still good..

I had it a long time ago. went for paps every 4 months. 2 were positive and the following 2 were normal  so they changed it to every 6 months.  all my paps after that have been normal and it's been 9 years.

It doesn’t just “go away”. You need to have it removed and then have paps every 3-6 months until you’re given the all clear.

There are about 100 different viruses for HPV and only a few of them can develop to cancer. Also only a couple of them can cause genital warts. That’s why almost everyone has it but in general has no symptoms and never will.

You can treat HPV or prevent it, but there’s no cure.
