Has anybody had an ECV?

Question

We found out that our babygirl is breech and we are scheduled for an ECV. I want to know if anyone has had it done or knows someone who has had it done.

I have everybody is different depends on the doctor. I didn't get a epidural so I felt everything and it hurt so bad and my stubborn son didn't move an inch. So I had to have him via c-section 2 weeks after. you will be very sore after. it's worth a try though I tried every thing to flip him!!

I didn't want to have one when we found out my son was breech at almost 39 weeks and my Dr was happy with my decision after explaining some of the risks of the procedure. like the previous poster I had to keep in my head he must have been breech for a reason. I waited to have my csection until the day before my due date so I could process everything since he was my first and I was terrified. But I had my csection and it all turned out just fine for us.

In my head I've always thought a baby was breech for a reason short cord ect.. I was be to nervous having someone physically pushing on you to turn the baby. To many complications can come with flipping the baby! bleeding emergency section abruption. the risks seems crazy for a "possibility" at a vaginal birth. It's never a guarantee you'll deliver that way.

My doctor said he 100% recommends it over a c-section. It will probably hurt and be uncomfortable but he has done so many and almost all of them have been successful. The ones that weren’t successful just didn’t end up turning so they had to be scheduled for a c-section. He has never had any harm come to baby while doing them and has never had a mom go into labor because of it. There are risks with everything (ECV, epidurals, natural births, c-sections). It’s up to you which risk you want to take. I am a FTM so I don’t have any experience at all, but I am learning not to rely on things I find on the internet and even these apps (no offense to anyone and I promise I am not trying to be rude) but I think the stress of so much info and everyone’s opinions can cause stress which also puts your baby at risk. I would listen to a professional. I trust my doc, he is trained for this and has been doing it for years. Anyways :) whatever you decide is a good decision for you and your baby no matter what anyone says 😊
