How were you diagnosed?

Question

2 years ago my doctor said I might have pcos but I was never diagnosed. I have an appointment soon bc I want to know for sure. I'm ttc but don't think I'm ovulating. I'm currently on cd 50 with negative hpt and no AF symptoms. 
How did the doctor diagnose you? What tests did you get done? Any advice can really help!!

I was ttc for a year with no luck when I went to the docs(sept 14) and hadn't had period for 6 months so they did blood tests which showed I had high testosterone . They then referred me to have in internal scan (Nov 14)of my ovaries in which they saw multiple follicles and that's when they diagnosed me which pcos. Since then I had tests done to see what they could do to help. Whilst waiting for the results I got my bfp at end of April and I'm now currently 7 weeks :)

I was diagnosed with PCOS in December 2014 after a chemical pregnancy.  I had been ttc for a year and a half at the time.  I had blood work done.  Androgen levels were through the roof so they did an ultrasound and found 14 cysts on my left ovary and 12 on my right.  Just started seeing a new doctor after being displeased with my previous doctors treatment.  Had my progesterone tested day 21 of this cycle.  It was negative.  I didn't ovulate even though I received positive opks on cd13-17.  Now on day 35 with no AF and no bfp.  Going back to the doctor June 8th.
