Can being on bc for years affect getting pregnant?

Hi all I'm Cassie this is my first post. I stopped my birth control in January I have been on it since I was 16 is there any way it could affect my chances of pregnancy?? My husband and I have been trying since march I'm just getting frustrated I guess because everyone around me seems to he having kids and I have yet to miss my period :(

I was on the pill for close to 10 years and the Dr didn't express any concern when we discussed my going off of it to ttc. I have heard though it can take your body 6 months to a year to regulate after going off of it...though it can be faster. Good luck!
