Does anyone have any tips on starting out?

I’m 19, pregnant with my first baby and moving out with my partner in a few weeks. We both earn a good,stable amount so money isn’t too much of an issue BUT we do want to be careful and make sure our bank balances build.  Does anyone have any tips on how to budget/design the place good? We’ve been looking at things on gumtree for cheap and we’ll get a few things off of there. Just looking for tips and ideas on decorating, food shopping etc. Would be really appreciated.

Don’t buy everything at once. What you will need is some outfit, newborn diaper but don’t buy too many, crib or a pack n play, and if you have the money a swing

In order to stay on budget, I plan out exactly what I want to buy for each room to decorate and buy it slowly. For grocery shopping I try to stick to the outside of the aisles (fruit/veg,bread,meat,dairy) and only buy sparingly in the inside aisles. Don’t be afraid to use canned food, frozen veggies, off brands. Meal planning also is a great way to stay in budget. Also check out your local flyers and go to the store that has the most items on your list on sale. In Canada we have this app called Reebee and you can load all the flyers for your area so it makes it easy to look.
