Crying during sex?

I just had sex with my friend with benefits. For some reason I started crying in the middle of sex and it was really embarrassing. I think it was because we were in missionary and he was cuddling me and kissing my forehead and talking to me which he hasn’t done yet and I cried. I feel really sad because I feel like I want intimacy and connection out of sex but I don’t get that because I’m not in a relationship. Is this normal? Has it ever happened to you?
