“Lucked out” - good or bad?

Bridget

Settle an argument for me.

Is the phrase “lucked out” or “to luck out” a good thing or a bad thing?

I say good, as in “I lucked out and there were still biscuits in the lunchroom when I got there!”

Or my husband says it’s a bad thing, as in “I lucked out because by the time I got there the biscuits were all gone!”

Not a great conversation piece, I admit, but we always argue over it!
