How long did it take?

I have my first appointment with the RE tomorrow! :D i have had the 3 day blood work as well as a HSG. my husband has had his semen analysis. he is all good, I have one blocked tube. share your stories with me. How long did it take till you got your BFP? Also what route dis you go?

we did clomid and femara with obgyn for about 6 months, no monitoring or anything while we waited to get into fertility specialist. then they upped femara dosage, did lots of blood tests to monitor progesterone levels and we got bfp 2 months later...big difference of level of involvement with fertility specialist than regular obgyn...think that made the difference for us

My husband and I tried for 4 years before I found out that I have Pcos. It took about 2 cycles of letrozole and HCG shots, and we got our positive test on Friday.

Our first RE appt was in August. My diagnosis was endometriosis and husbands sperm was perfect. We did 3 cycles of IUI with Letrozole. All failed. The 4th cycle (November) we did IVF. Did a frozen transfer on Dec 16 and got my bfp Dec 22! So a little over 4 months from first RE appt to BFP. Good luck!!

It has taken my husband and I almost 6 years to our BFP. I have Fibroids, Cervical Stenosis, PCOS, Polyps and MFI. We had a lot stacked against us but we're finally here and it feels amazing. We immediately went to IVF with ICSI.

Hey Courtney,
I know it’s a little late, but wanted to share my story with you as well. 
My DH and I have been TTC for 10 months. Went to see an RE and all of my hormone testing came back normal, but my ultrasound showed a large polyp, and my HSG showed one blocked tube. Hubby’s SA came back perfect.
I am going in for surgery (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy) on 3/8 to try and unblock the tube as well as clear out the polyp. Hopefully we can begin trying after that with IUI. 
My RE said the surgery will be the best chance we have at trying to fix the problem.

My husband and i found out we needed IVF after trying unassisted for a year with no luck. He got a semen analysis and shockingly we found out we needed IVF with ICSI for MFI. Hubby had low count, motility, and morphology. We had our first RE appointment Oct 2nd. I was lucky enough to be able to start birth control pills on my first appointment. Our egg retrieval was on Nov 6th- so a little over a month from the first appointment. My clinic does freeze all, FET only cycles so our first transfer was a month later on Dec 5th. Unfortunately, although i caught a faint line for a couple of days, cycle was a BFN. We did our second transfer on Jan 8th which was a BFP ❤️ Our first scan is next Friday. All in all our journey was, 1 year unassisted, 4 months fertility treatments, 1 round of IVF, 2 FETs, 1 BFP.

I went off of birth control a year ago in March. We wanted to start trying for a baby, but my cycle never came back. We did two rounds of Prometrium which did bring it back, but it only came back naturally once. My OB sent me to a fertility clinic in February. I did all of the testing, no noticeable problems other than PCOS. Basically I just don’t ovulate on my own. My husband’s numbers were on the high end, which was good. We did our first IUI on May 7, and I just found out I am pregnant! We did a medicated cycle with letrozole and a trigger shot. Also on progesterone and estrogen to prevent miscarriage. Overall, it took about 8 months from when we started wanting to try. 4 months with the RE. Good luck to you!

We meet with our specialist in October last year and it took us a few months to finish testing, get vaccines, and come up with the money to do IVF. We started the actual retrieval process the beginning of last may and had our frozen transfer the end of July. Got our BFP August 7th.  It took us months to get the necessary paperwork and pre-IVF stuff done.

When I first started working with my fertility specialist, he discovered a large dermoid on one of my ovaries so tc got out on hold while I was waiting for surgery to remove it. We found out in May, and did not get the surgery until August due to his schedule being packed, and then of course we had a trip planned for the week he originally wanted to schedule it so we had to push it back further. But it was a nice few months of preventing to make sure I wouldn’t have another miscarriage, let us have a nice break from all of the stress of ttc and we were able to fully enjoy our vacation. Once I had my surgery in August we did one month of just femara which didn’t work. Then we did one IUI that ended in another chemical pregnancy because my follicles got too big before triggering. The month after we started looking at the follicles earlier than normal, and now we are 16 weeks pregnant!
