Ovulation question so obvious you will all think i'm a little bit dumb.

Question
When you "days past ovulation" are you counting the very first day of your ovulation and so then the next day would be 1dpo and then 2dpo and so on. I'm confused about all that. I see on here all the time 10dpo and im wondering where I land in that equation.
Hopefully one day I learn about all this stuff and not bother anyone with these questions...lol
