Valentine’s Day

So, I cheated on my boyfriend in September. He recently looked through my phone and saw those old conversations and he got really mad bc I still talk to the guy that I cheated with as a friend. He got really pissed and said he didn’t wanna be with me anymore but he calmed down and forgave me, we spent the rest of the day together and watched a movie, and we did stuff as well. Like oral and what not. After I went home, we were fine and stuff, texting and being loving towards each other. The next night, I went out for dinner with my father and when I got home, I texted him that I was home and he told me he has to tell me something. He told me that he doesn’t love me like he did before, but that he still loves me. He said half of him wants to stay together and half of him doesn’t. I was crying all night talking to him and stuff. And he told me that he wants to work things out and that he still loves me and he wants to move forward and so do I. He really shows that he wants to move forward together and get through this. He said he tried to forget about it but he cant but I told him that it takes time and we have to work it out together. He’s still in this with me and I love him more than anything. For those wondering, I blocked the guy that I cheated with and any other guys that try to flirt with me. Anyways, to my question. Valentine’s day is coming up and his birthday is a few days before that. We wanted to get a hotel for his v day and he was going to pay but he’s running low on money and trying to find a job right now while going to school. I’m 18, he’s 19. I also don’t want him to pay since it’s his birthday around that time. I want to get a hotel for us for V day but I’m not sure if I should. I don’t want to ask him because I want to surprise him. I got a bunch of advice on what him and I should do and people suggested that I should give him space. I suggested it to him and he said that he doesn’t want space, he wants me to be there with him, so i’m staying. But I’m not sure if I should get a hotel or not. Help??
