Question

i’m really scared that when i finally have kids i’m gonna get postpartum depression cause all the females in my family got it and i have really bad anxiety and clinical depression anyway.

Answer

Don’t be scared of the prospect of pnd! Just because it runs in the family doesn’t mean you will get it, and even if you do, there is plenty of help and support available these days! 
I had zero history of it in my family, and had never had depression before myself (although I did suffer with anxiety disorder in my teens/early 20’s) but I had very severe PND after my son. I believe his traumatic birth and the fact he was quite poorly for the first few weeks, as well as me being unable to breastfeed, all contributed to it, although nobody can ever truly pinpoint why they suffer with it.
Anyway, the most important bit of advice I could offer you, is to ensure your family and friends are all well aware of the symptoms to look out for, in case like me, if you do get pnd (fingers crossed you won’t!) then they can pick up on it even if you’re in denial/unaware yourself.
My family and friends didn’t really know a lot about depression and pnd before, with the exception of my husband and my sister (she’s a nurse) It was thanks to my husband and sister that I finally, after almost 12 months of suffering in silence, went and got the help I needed. It took a long while, but with the help of medication for a few months, and most importantly help and support from loved ones alongside counselling, and I have been 100% better for quite some time now.
In fact, I’m now 6 weeks pregnant with our second child. Something I never thought I’d be able to do as I was so petrified of the pnd returning for so long. Now, I know that if the worst comes to the worst, I know how to go about it and I know I have the support I need.
Unfortunately, it’s not really something we can predict if we will have or not. Try your best (although I know how hard it is) to try and relax about it. For all you know you might be absolutely fine, after all, more women don’t get it than women that do! 
The key to PND is support and understanding! If you have a good support network around you, no matter how big or small that is, you will be fine!
