Continuous birth control risks

Are any of you taking some form of continuous birth control? Are there any crazy/awful side effects? My periods are excruciating and I’m contemplating beginning continuous BC. I know everyone responds differently but I’d like to get a sense of real risks and side effects. Thanks!
