Babies father in delivery room?

So the babies father has been in and out of the picture my entire pregnancy. He has totally screwed me over relationship wise and openly dated other people while still stringing me along. My family hates him and doesn’t even want him at the hospital but he is wanting to be in the room and wants to be in our sons life 100%. What do I do!?

It’s 2 different relationships ... if he’s there for the child he should be allow to be a father even if he’s not a good boyfriend

I personally wouldn't have him in the room during labor. He can wait in the waiting room and come in once the baby is born. You giving birth is about YOU and what YOU are comfortable with. If he's been in and out, and not supportive throughout the entire pregnancy then he doesn't deserve to be in the room.

Like others he should be at the hospital but I think in the room is not what you will need at the time. Explain that he hasn't been thee for you so you don't feel comfortable having him there but you want him to see the baby as soon as it's born. Then maybe he will make some sort of connection to his actions and consequences without being unfair

If he wants to be in the baby's life, that's great. hopefully he'll be a better father then a partner. But I wouldn't have him in the delivery room with me at all. This is about you now, bringing baby safely into this world. he doesn't deserve to be there after putting you what you went through. you shouldn't feel awful about it either but the decision is really yours. I know you already have so much on your mind right now but have a plan set out, what you would like "visiting days/time" to be after baby comes home with u? what's his expectations? does he expect to have a newborn stay with him overnight? what are you okay and not okay with? if he's hard to deal with or you know you guys won't compromise I would ask him to get his visitation set up in court where they would I believe set up a schedule for him to see the baby. idont think they get overnights with a newborn but idk every state is different. think about what's best and if you want him on child support or not. and lastly don't let anyone including him make.you feel guilty of the choices you make. you carried this baby for 9 months without his help, u are this innocent baby's mom and your family seems to support you emotionally, if he was a real man he would of stepped up. goodluck!!

I'm going through the same thing. exact same thing. I say let him be involved in his babys life but labor and delivery will be hard in its own so you need positive people and want to feel comfortable and with people who love and respect you.

he can be there and see his daughter be born but not think he can pull that lovey dovey bs if he isn't serious.  i wont stop a father bonding with his child if he means it 100% i have an ok relationship with my oldests dad only because he is there for her not me.

It is not about you anymore. So if he screwed you over while dating it has nothing to do his relationship with the child. You two are over with and done. So his focus should be the child at this point.
