Interfering mom who’s not allowed to interfere?!

Okay so, my mom isn’t allowed children and cannot be left with children by herself due to an incident when my sister and I were little. I’ve told her I’m pregnant and now she’s making her plans about how she’s taking the baby on vacation, how she can’t wait to babysit. I want her to have an interactive part in my child’s life and I know that’s she’s changed, but in the eyes of the law - she can’t. How do I gently remind her? Help!!

Idk if there’s a ‘gentle’ way to say it. The only way to say it is to explain that you know she’s changed and you want her in your baby’s life but due to the law, you both know she won’t be allowed to be alone with your baby

I think you’re going to have to be straightforward with this one and just nip it in the bud. I would assume that if she is found alone with a child, that would also have legal implications for you? Obviously you should risk that and she should understand.
