Diet sodas?

Hey mamas! I know that no soda is great pregnant or not pregnant, but I have an addiction to Diet Coke. How bad is it to have one diet soda every other day? I feel guilty, but it’s my second baby and I’m also not quite as paranoid as I was with my first. Thoughts?

I was addicted to coke or should I say I am addicted to coke. My doctors told me to drink a little bit every day because my blood pressure drops a lot if I don’t have coke and I will faint if I don’t get coke once a day. I stopped drinking it right when I found out I was pregnant because I heard caffeine is really bad but now I have to have to drink it.

I’m the same way. I talked to my OB about it and she would rather me drink regular soda over diet BUT she said that as long as I don’t have more than 12oz of caffeine a day then it’ll be fine. So, I try to limit myself with diet soda. I’ll only drink it if I’m craving it. Otherwise, I’ll have something caffeine free. I also cannot live without coffee, so I’ll choose one or the other during the day. It’s tough but its only temporary! The baby will be here before we know it & then I can go back to my unhealthy addiction to Diet Coke! Ha! 😁 Hope this helped!!

I literally just asked my grandma-in-law about this and it's just as bad as drinking regular soda. I was told to limit it to 2 a day at most. But substituting it would be the best option. Maybe a club soda, with a bit of flavor mix in it or sparkling water??

I drink it everyday 🤷🏻‍♀️ not diet but regular soda. I try to stick with Jaritos or sprite something that doesn’t have caffeine. But I still drink coke when I got to fast foods or restaurants
