Weird question

If I didn’t have a brand name milk catcher for my other boob, to catch leaking milk while the baby is on the other boob, could I use like my own little make shift device like a small mason jar? I’m scared to ask to get a milk catcher cause I know my parents won’t deem it as a necessity and they’re the only support I have right now as far as getting things for the baby because I don’t have a job and my baby’s father is absent.
