anyone with the Kylenna?

I go in three days to get my kylenna inserted. any tips? anything to prepare my self for? im kinda starting to freak out

I got mine on Monday. It was bad pain for me but it was over quickly if you breathe and bear through it. Definitely take pain meds before hand.

You should take ibuprofen or aleve (naproxen)- the doctor I go to said that aleve tends to work better for some reason? Personally, the insertion just felt really uncomfortable. I didn’t have extreme pain, it just felt extremely cringe-y... I can’t really compare it. I didn’t spot or bleed too much after- barely enough to need a liner. The cramping right after they put it in was the worst part, it was like really strong cramps, but they stopped about 30 minutes later.
I had it put in at the end of September, and I still get some random cramping from time to time. It was more frequent in the beginning, so definitely carry some ibuprofen on hand for the first few weeks. Now I mainly get it before my period starts, but my periods have gotten a lot lighter, too, sooo... all in all, I’ve had a good experience!

I have Kyleena. I would say take ibuprofen before you go to the doctor, that helps. Other than that, I’d say think of any questions or concerns you may have about life with an iud, and write them down to ask the doctor.

It hurts less if you have your period, and if you take some ibuprofen. If you're on The Pill now, you might consider stopping now so in three days your period will be there.
