Cloth/reusable diapers (please read full story I’m desperate)

Help!!! We plan on using cloth or reusable (idk if there’s a difference) diapers at home, and disposable ones on the go. (I refuse to carry around a dirty diaper until we get home next) but anyways, we have our hearts set on this and asked for reusable or cloth diapers at our shower, since we can always just buy the disposable ones our self, and since we really don’t know how many we’ll use every month, we can get the sizes we need when we need them. Wellll my baby shower just passed and I got 1. I repeat ONE package of cloth diapers... I got so much stuff from my registry that I could have waited on, but really? Only one person got us (somewhat) diapers. It’s just the cloth, literally not even a pin to keep it shut 😫 and now as I get closer to my due date I realize: I DONT KNOW THE FIRST THING ABOUT REUSABLE DIAPERS. They seem like such a great idea, save money, save the environment, can be better for baby’s but, blah blah blah, but I literally have no clue where to start. I currently have an 8 pack of cloth rectangles. I need pins for sure. Do I need a pad to go in it? Do I need a cover for it? What are the cute little fabric diapers with snaps on them I see? Where do I get them and how do I use them? Are all reusable diapers the same size? Please ladies I’m desperate to become a good mom and if I just wanna save the environment and save money and make my lil bebe happy but I’m realizing it’s a little late in the game and I just want to make this work. Pleeeeaaase give me any and all advice you have!!

Update: of course I am grateful for everything we received at the shower, and I’m in no way upset over what my guests did or didn’t bring. But I have to be honest, I found it funny that we got the random cute stuff or the large items we didn’t think anyone would actually shell out money for, but the one item people are known for bringing to a baby shower, no one did. (Which is totally fine!!!) and why I’m now trying to learn as much I can about the topic so I can get the right brands and sizes and accessories for whatever a first time mom needs to successfully reuse diapers
