Ovulation pain??

I didn't know where exactly to post this; I apologize if it's in the wrong place.
So when I'm on my period I sometimes get these EXCRUCIATING cramps, like to the point where I can't stand up or walk. Now lately, every other month either the day before I'm due to ovulate or on the day of I get these same pains. It's at the point where I might have to miss classes if these pains continue on to tomorrow. Is it normal to feel pain when you're ovulating? Should I go see someone?

This seems more common then I ever realized. I think there are many causes for this too, you should probably see your gyno to find out for sure. I have normal periods with no pain, but ovulation time, that’s another story! I ache, cramps and back ache hip ache 😖 I was told it was from fluid build up from when an egg bursts out of the ovary and it takes time for the body to absorb the fluid. I also have pelvic congestive syndrome meaning the veins around my ovaries are enlarged, making ovulation more painful. So you aren’t alone, but should seek a medical opinion.
