I was just wondering who has had a second baby after PPROM and do you have any advice? I PPROM’D at 23 + 0

With my son, and gave birth at 25 +3.

My son is now over 1, and they recommend waiting 18 mo - 2 yr to try again... so we’re thinking soon we will start TTC again. They could find no explanation for PPROM (no infection) and I didn’t have IC. I want another baby but am also afraid. Our original plan was not to space our kids out because my husband is 10 years old than me and will be 38 this year... but obviously we have no choice but to space them out since conceiving too soon is a risk factor for another preemie.

I have mixed feelings, not because I am unsure about wanting another baby, but because I’m afraid of what could happen again. My son was in the NICU for over 3 months, its was almost 3 hours away from home so I stayed with him at the Ronald McDonald House and my husband only was able to come on weekends, which being apart out a lot of strain on our marriage. We seem to be getting along much better now. I lost my job because of all of it, which is fine because I am now staying home until I have to go back in order to have enough hours to keep my nursing license active. It was a very taxing experience and I just know with another pregnancy I will worry myself sick the entire time.

I know I can get progesterone shots. Just looking for any words or wisdom/support or advice for having another baby after PPROM. Thanks
