Switching to a schedule?

My baby is 8 weeks old and I have always breastfed on demand. To be honest I didn’t think of any other way! FTM here. Anyway, I am going back to work in a month and I’d like her to get on a schedule. How do I transition from being fed on demand to a set schedule? Are there any book recommendations to help with this? Thanks!

Following. I go back to work in 3 weeks 😩 luckily little one is sleeping 5-6 hours a night most nights but daytime is nowhere near a schedule.

I think all babies are different but a lot of breast fed babies are just constantly feeding. 
My daughter is now 6 months and from about 2/3 months she only feeds every 3 hours sometimes 4. She still wakes at 2,4 and 6am though. I couldn't cope with that if I was back to work.

You could look into baby wise. I’ve had several friends that successfully got baby into a schedule using that approach. Only downside to a schedule like that is that you can’t deviate at all (even on weekend).

I’ve never switched to a schedule. Always fed on demand. When working mine have spaced out feedings more and made up for it when I’m around. For pumping at work I’d do it every 2 hours. It’s always worked well for me. I’m wary of schedules since they have so many changes and growth spurts that may not be easily accommodated by set schedules.
