Break up or nah?

So....... It all started with anonymous notes and drawings in my locker, signed “A” and at first I thought it was like a pretty little liars prank but they kept coming and it was none of my friend’s handwriting.

It didn’t take long for me to find out that it was a guy. And the guy became obvious when I realised that there was only one guy beginning with A who would like me.

Anyways, the whole idea of a guy liking me got me all flustered up and I said I liked him too and then we started texting and talking and sitting together at school. (This is gr11)

But when I was with him I just didn’t feel a connection. He told me how much he liked me and that he’d ditch his friends any day for me. I couldn’t say it back...

I tried to imagine my future with him, and all I saw was him with a stereotypical family with a business job and this whole stereotypical life... a life that I didn’t want.

We went on a coffee date.. then a movie date.. and by then I knew that I didn’t want to be with him.

So on our third date I was planning on breaking up with him.

Then... when I get there... he hands me a Christmas gift... A freaking pandora silver bracelet with two charms!! When I talked with my friends afterward I found out it was $150! Like what! Our third date!

I was in shock and I had to leave in 15 minutes and I still had to BREAK UP with him after he gave me this!

So I won’t explain how that went down.. but it went down... and I didn’t feel good about it.

Should I have broken up with him or not?
