Period or not a Period??

Please help

I'm on cycle day 39 . Usually 28-32 days. If had minimal brown spotting around cycle day 24, I think this was from DTD. On cycle day 37 I had period signs backache headache Moody heavy feeling down below. Woke on cycle day 38 to bright red blood. Only enough to wipe on a tissue, say palm size. I had no more bleeding for the rest of the day. The pad I took out at night time was clean. I still have sore boobs and I'm bad tempered. All other symptoms have gone. What was It? I'm scared to test as had ectopic in past. Was this my Period?
