Horrible cough 😷😷 What's safe to take?

Hey ladies. 12 weeks pregnant and came down with a horrible cough that hurts my lungs. emailed doctor and still waiting to hear back. any meds would you ladies recommend or natural remedies. trying honestly to not take too many drugs while pregnant. (over the counter prescription drugs)

Mucinex is okay and the original robitussin. If you look at the ingredients on mucinex it is the same as the original robitussin. The others aren’t approved.... said my doc.
