We recently announced our second pregnancy and so many people have asked me if we were "trying" or if the baby was planned. This question annoys me so much. Does it matter? Would the baby be loved less if she wasn't planned? Is it anyone's business? I'm not sure if I am just bothered by this question because both of our babies have been "surprises" but we weren't actively trying to prevent pregnancy. I feel almost irresponsible saying that she, like her brother, wasn't planned but I dislike even more having to explain myself to people, sometimes people I'm simply acquaintances with. Does anyone feel the same way about this question, that it is just rude and unnecessary?
