Pap smear while pregnant?" /> Have any of you had a Pap smear done while pregnant? Is it bad to have done in your opinion?

As a standard when you go to your first prenatal they will perform a pap. Unless you've already had it pretty recently.

I didn't have one only because I just had a physical a few weeks before I got pregnant. They are pretty standard to have.

I will have on in a few weeks when I am due for one and do an ultrasound in the same appt at 8 weeks

I had one for my first prenatal visit & it came back normal. Unless you or your doctor has some concerns you will have one usually at the beginning of your pregnancy & 6 weeks after your baby arrives!

I had one at 10 weeks during my first prenatal appointment because I was due for one :) it's safe.

I was bleeding pretty bad and went to the ER. One of my OB's was there & they did a pretty in depth pelvic exam. I've had Pap smears before & it was just uncomfortable. But at almost 25 weeks, that exam HURT lol. Hopefully I won't need one anymore

It's standard to do one at your OB workout. I lucked out and had my physical done a few months before, so did not have to.

Completely safe and recommended! If there's anything abnormal that comes back it's important to know for baby's health. However now a days they may not do one if you've never had one and you are under 21 years of age. I can't remember something about the health etc stated it wasn't needed under 21...which is kinda dumb even doctors think that it's dumb.
