Considering Nuvaring

I’m starting to think about becoming sexually active with my boyfriend so I obviously need to get on birth control. I have to have my mom take me to the doctor because I’m only fifteen.

I’ve been having more painful cramps and heavier bleeding than normal, and my mood swings are awful so I’m going to the doctor anyway. I’m also using that as a way to ask my mom for birth control.

Will Nuvaring work as both a contraception and help with my periods? How easily/often do doctors prescribe it? Will the doctor tell my mom the full reason I’m on birth control?
