Miscarriage question(s)

So the doctors think I’m about 4 weeks but just discovered yesterday I’m loosing the baby. The bleeding is consistent but very light with only small amounts of clots. Would this possibly be normal considering I didn’t get far enough along for the baby to develop really? I just so badly want the bleeding to be over. I feel like once the bleeding stops I can say “it’s done” and allow myself to truly move on and heal. Has anyone had a very early miscarriage and if so was your bleeding light or more period like or heavier than a period? I’m just so confused and dazed but I’m trying to wrap my head around what to expect.
