Are school uniforms actually sufficient enough to stop some of the bullying?
This may have been a topic on here before, but i can’t remember. I came across the topic and have been truly curious in what others opinions/experiences are.
My opinion/experience: When I was in school, uniforms did not help with cutting back on bullying. We had to wear a polo shirt with no logo, khaki pants with no logo and closed toed shoes. You could also only wear a jacket of one color, it could not have any design or logo on it either.
I found that kids were still bullied for their clothing. While some had name brand, others did not. And some that wore off brand may not have had the cleanest of clothes (this is not bashing anyone, this is simply just stating what I saw/observed). Of course, typically the bullies were boys/girl who wore the name brand, and would bully the kids who did not have name brand, or who had dirty clothing..
I think whether a school has uniform or not, a bully is going to find something to pick on someone for whether it be clothing or something else.
