Why do Americans use applicators for tampons?

I can't speak for all Aussies but I think due to the amount of tampon wrappers I've seen in bathrooms I'm pretty sure we just shove them on up there finger deep??? 😂😂😂

We have applicators in the UK. They’re more common I believe than the shove it up yourself ones!

I’m from the Uk and I’ve always used applicator tampons! The thought of having to shove it up there myself seems pretty horrible. I find it much more hygienic to use the applicator type...but if we were all the same life would be dull! ☺️

I would guess that most would say the applicators are more hygienic than sticking your finger up there. With an applicator you are less likely to touch body fluids and then have to touch the toilet to flush, the stall door to open it and then touch the sink.

Canada primarily uses the applicator ones. You can find the non-applicator ones but they’re not as common. At least in the major grocery stores. I’ve used both but I prefer the applicators. They’re less messy and much faster to use in my opinion.

I’m an Aussie and get applicators from Woolies. I like them so much better. It literally just acts as your finger. But I have long (natural) nails that I just can’t bare to risk scratching myself so that’s why I like them!
