Increasing supply?

Question

So due to a severely cracked nipple one of my breasts is producing a significant less amount of breast milk. I need some advice on getting it back up; I've been pumping and feeding her on that side when she first starts and then switching but so far no luck. Advice please???

At two weeks I had a terribly cracked nipple and mastitis. I pumped that side but could not nurse for 5 days. It was never the same. After that my supply went way down, Reyes fenugreek, and even prescription reglan, with no luck. Unfortunately I had to start supplementing, I hope yall don't have to do that! Good luck. I am still nursing twice a day but it's mainly for the bond and comfort more than providing for him.

I'm pumping for 10 minutes on that side only after a couple of daytime feedings. Just started yesterday so we'll see if it helps at all! I'm seeing a lactation consultant tomorrow and plan to ask her about this too - I'll let you know what she says!

You could try fenugreek or some tea like "mothers milk" or "earth mama angel baby milkmaid tea". Oats are good too, there are recipes online for lactation cookies or smoothies to build your supply.

I eat oatmeal everyday and I have a couple tablespoons of milled flax seed too! I also drink lots of water. I would suggest pumping a little longer everytime to increase your supply. I only pump 4 times a day, 20 mins and I just started producing 40 oz a day! I'm only 3 weeks postpartum. I eat a healthy diet plenty of protein and calcium from almond milk.
