Making children say “ma’am” and “sir”?
So my parents are Yankees but I was born and raised in the south. My parents always found it odd that parents made their kids say “ma’am” and “sir”. I’m of two minds. As a teacher, I appreciate when students say “yes, ma’am” but I’m also fine with “yes” or “no”. “Yeah” drives me CRAZY as a response from a child. Thoughts??
