Dating a guy six years older than me?

I'm 18 and he is 24. What do you guys think are the advantages and disadvantages of dating a guy six years older than you?

He’s going to be way more mature and might actually have his shit together. My man is 5 years older and I’m so grateful. He’s a fantastic dad to my future step son and he’s a wonderful man with a good career. Couldn’t ask for more than that!! Most guys get there eventually but science has even shown that women mature faster than men so I think about a 3-7 year age gap is perfect!!

I’ve dated someone 6 yrs older. I was 19 and he was 25. I was still in college and he was graduated w a full time job. I met him on campus bc his friends/old roommates were still in school. It was hard. We broke up after 8 months. He hated my “immature” friends - who were exactly like me and 19- just wanting to experience college. He and his friends wanted to go out to the bars and I couldn’t. It was definitely hard w the age gap.

there are older people who take advantage of younger people, it’s just an obvious fact that someone with more experience can manipulate someone who is naïve  
however when it comes to these things like relationships, age difference is only part of it. Just get to them as a person, preferably as a friend first. you have to decide if they are a good person. if this is an online relationship, then you need to work even harder at getting to know them and don’t let your daydreams in your head dictate reality. Girls love to get all dreamy about their man and sometimes those fantasies make for disappointing realities. 
The other thing you have to worry about is being 18. in US, 18 is the youngest age that an adult can have legally have sex with, so make sure that you’re not being used.

I got with my SO rite when I turned 18 he had just turned 25 3 months prior so 🤷🏻‍♀️ where still together I’m turning 22 on Friday 😈 oh and now we’re getting our rainbow baby!
