What do contractions feel like??

I'm sitting at my table at the moment 36 weeks, and everything got really tight above my belly button, I'm a FTM and I'm not really sure what they're supposed to feel like. I pressed down a bit and could feel the baby was right there so is it just him or what? Any advice would be great.

I’m sure everyone is different... but for me personally I had contractions in the front and in my back. In the front and back they were low, I would say just above my underwear line. Felt like terrible period cramps or being stabbed. Before actually going into labor I had really bad “contractions” the week of my due date. Thought it was time for the hospital or close. Called the hotline they gave me and they said if you can walk and talk you aren’t in labor. Also to try to fall asleep and see if they go away. Which I soon found out a few days later what they were meaning by not being able to talk when I was induced lol if you are concerned, time what you think you are experiencing as contractions. If you are still having them then see if you can call your OB or the L&D; at the hospital you are delivering at. There is never a stupid or bad reason to call them if you think you are having contractions 🙂 I’m pretty sure all FTM experience what you are going through with not being sure.

bad cramps that can go to your back. they get so bad that you can't even talk or breath.

it's like the worst period cramp ever like ur insides are being squeezed it makes u stop doing w.e ur doing for a min or w.e and then it goes away
