Do I need to change bottles?

My son is 16 days old and I have the Munchkin Latch bottles. He gets formula allll over his chin, runs down his neck etc. Is this normal or do I need to change bottles with a different shaped type of nipple? I'm changing his outfits so often and feel like it's wasting formula.

Try Dr. Brown’s preemie nipples. My lactation consultant recommended to use those until 3-6 months to make them work a little harder for it. You can also try slow-feeding- making sure the bottle is horizontal instead of tipped up.

Are you using the smallest teet size a slow flow one? If so then yes this is normal. During the first few weeks they have a really strong suck but then the milk comes out fast and it’s too much for them to swallow at once hence the dribbling. This will get better as baby gets used to the bottle 😊 I started using a muslin cloth rather than a bib and this caught more of the milk. Fold it into a triangle and then tie at the back 😊

Yes change the bottle. MUM bottles are best. Maybe flow is too strong for the baby.
