Are children typically conditioned to respect their fathers more than their mothers?

So with children raised with a mother and father, do you think it's standard that they are taught to respect and listen to their fathers more? For example I often hear mother's say "If you don't listen I'm telling daddy" or "Daddy is going to get you in trouble" instead of of handling the discipline themselves and leads to the children possibly acting unruly when their father isn't around. Have you noticed this and do you think this and do you think it is problematic? I don't do this in my house bc I want my daughter to view her parents as equals that handle decisions together and both nurture and discipline.
