When to tell family and close friends

Tomorrow I am 5 weeks pregnant. I know typically they say to wait until 12 weeks to announce it. How early did you tell your family and close friends?

I told close friends and close family right away. I’m a labor and delivery nurse and see bad things happen at every stage of pregnancy so I don’t really believe in the 12 week thing. I told everyone else around 8 weeks after we saw the heartbeat.

I’d wait until you’re closer to the second trimester mark to tell. I’ve had 3 pregnancies (one ended in a mc) & my first two, I told immediately (5/6 weeks along). Third pregnancy I found out before 4wks, told hubby & friends only to miscarry this baby at 5.3wks. Definitely made up my mind that I’m not telling family until 13+ weeks this next future pregnancy. Like the other poster said, bad things can happen at every point in the pregnancy.... you decide when’s best for youuuuu. ❤️

when you are ready tell them. don't feel rushed or like you need to wait. I told everybody as soon as the lines came up. I am not the type to hold that in.

Immediate family and our best friends found out just after we did! I have had 2 miscarriages and wanted their support after each one, so I wasn’t afraid to tell them. Everyone else was after our first scan at 12 weeks 😊

With my first three pregnancies I told my family as soon as I found out... I miscarried my third at 16 weeks. I didn’t tell anyone except my hubby when I got pregnant the next 2 times, I also miscarried them. Then I got pregnant with this one and told everyone at 12 weeks when I could no longer really hide it and was told I was low risk for a miscarriage.

There is no right time.. just right for you. I told close friends and family from day 1 (around 5 weeks). I miscarried my previous Pregnancy at 12 weeks and it was amazing having all of the support from the people I love.

I told family and very close friends at 5 weeks . No one else until 2 days shy of 13 weeks . Just incase anything went wrong
