Vaginal wall tears

Hi mummies - really long story but I will try keep it short. I had a forceps delivery 10months ago, my first child. We waited until 9 weeks after to try having sex as I had an infection etc. It was extremely painful. I saw my GP who said that it could be my episiotomy but I wasn’t convinced as the pain felt internal but not high up. She prescribed an anaesthetic gel but that hasn’t helped. Sometimes the pain is unbearable. We can only do missionary and even then it’s a struggle. Today I had a smear and had a speculum inserted for the first time since giving birth. The nurse mentioned I had some tearing of the vaginal wall near the opening which might be causing pain and that only time to heal will help.

Has anyone else experienced this? I need some reassurance that it will get better with time as it is killing my love life 😢🙈
