Miscarriage/Period

I am currently going through a miscarriage. At 4 weeks pregnant I started getting dark brown spotting that eventually turned to bleeding. I went in to get blood work and my doctor said I most likely had/am having a miscarriage because of the symptoms and my blood levels being at 195. The bleeding is now period like but not very heavy to where it soaks a pad. I go in for blood work tomorrow to confirm the numbers keep going down.

Is it possible that after the miscarriage that my period would also be coming beings that my period was supposed to come less than a week ago, or would I most likely have to wait for that?
